President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Dr. Jenni Haukio received traditional Christmas greetings today, Thursday, in Mäntyniemi.
Christmas greetings to the presidential couple were brought this year, as is traditional, by several different parties.
The presidential couple was the first to receive a spruce from the spruce merchants of Metsäylioppilainen. The presidential couple also got their own small potted spruce Aaro-son.
– I didn’t know that foresters were such good speakers, Niinistö thanked at the end of the Christmas speech.
He also thanked for the handsome firs and wished the foresters good luck in the future.

Editor of Iltalehti Mari Pudas asked the presidential couple what Aaro wanted as a Christmas present.

The presidential couple said they would celebrate a traditional Christmas. The President of the Republic hoped that Santa Claus would make it to them as well. The presidential couple assured that the buck will come all the way from Korvatunturi.

It was the last time when Niinistö and Haukio received Christmas greetings in Mäntyniemi, because next year there are presidential elections.
This is already the 30th time that the presidential couple has received greetings.
