Italy’s high jump star Gianmarco Tamberi once again stunned with his beard style at the World Championships in Athletics.

Tamberi, who won the World Championship gold with a score of 236, had in his usual style shaved one side of his face smooth and left a beard on the other side. The sight is by far one of the most personal in Budapest.

The style, characterized as “outrageous” by fashion journalists, has been seen on the Italian’s face regularly since 2011.

In 2015, Tamberi said his beard was part of the showman’s role.

– I hate games where the spectators can’t get into the atmosphere. That’s why I always try to entertain them, Tamberi said at the time.

– This beard entertains the audience. It has become my trademark.

A couple of years ago, the high jumper also competed successfully without a beard, but when the level of results waned, he returned to a half-beard. It worked.

– All means must be used. When the result came, let’s continue with this beard style, the Italian laughed last summer.

The high jumper knows how to engage his audience in other ways as well. Before the World Cup final in Budapest, he rhythmically played the drums on the pitch.

The World Cup gold came off, even for the US JuVaughn Harrison jumped the same result. His stat line was worse.
