The French baguette, or the baguette, is now part of the Unesco World Heritage. The fact that it is a protected cultural heritage is therefore a novelty, but the popularity of French baking was already clear: about six billion are baked every year.

But also in Drenthe a lot of goodies are baked – and devoured. Think of the Zuidlaarderbol (full of currants), knee perties (indispensable at the turn of the year) and dry sausage (makes a nice pair with the Drentse Vrijmibo).
