What do you think? Smoothie bar, power nap unit or coffee garden? An office is for working

The office landscape is changing, employers are doing everything they can to lure employees back to the office after the corona crisis. They also hope to attract and retain staff with an alternative interior.

A smoothie bar, a power nap unit or a coffee garden, according to the NOS Architectural firms are increasingly receiving requests for these types of interior products. More than before, the office is a social meeting place.

“The massive office garden is no longer of this time,” says office designer Nienke Schram. “Working at home is nice and quiet, nowadays you mainly go to the office to meet people and work together. To ensure that everyone can be productive, you have to adjust the interior, especially at the office.”

In some cases, employers go even further. A facility service provider tells the NOS that he advises other companies to also turn their office into a clubhouse. “With activities and training you can spread your culture among employees. Think of drinks, but also games, breakfast sessions, movie nights and padel lessons.”

What do you think? Should an office in 2022 be more of a clubhouse or will traditional space with workplaces still suffice?
