What do you think: Despite the expensive period, I also buy children’s stamps this year

Ding-dong. Would you also like to buy children’s stamps?

The chance that you will hear that question at the door is quite high in the coming weeks. As of today, some 140,000 primary school children are going door-to-door selling children’s stamps. Due to the 70th anniversary of Donald Duck magazine, these well-known figures adorn the stamps.

The theme of the 74th edition of the children’s stamp campaign this year is ‘Give children a tailwind’. The organization wants to use the proceeds for children who get stuck at school or who have experienced something else unpleasant. For example, they can receive guidance or special training. This year’s children’s stamp campaign runs until 5 October. Last year the children’s stamp campaign raised 8,526,365 euros. That was 1 million more than in 2020.

A set of children’s stamps, consisting of two sheets of five stamps, costs just over 14 euros. They are therefore more expensive than regular stamps, which cost 96 cents per stamp. Despite this difference and despite this period in which everything seems to be getting more expensive, do you still opt for children’s stamps?
