What did my grandfather do in World War II? Why did he support the Germans? Or where did he hide people in hiding? The Drents Archief wants to help people with such a quest and people who want to know more about what happened in their village or region during the Second World War.
That is why today there was a special World War II family day in the archive. The photo on the banner at the front door is telling. A grandfather who reads the SS weekly Storm while smoking a pipe.
Joke Wolff of the Drents Archief: “We want to give tips and tricks to people who want to do their own research into their family during the Second World War. This day is therefore not intended for historians, who know how to find their way. Through workshops, guided tours and helping people with their search, we want to show them what is possible if you want to do your own research into your family during the war.”
