Westhoek fire brigade is launching Brandweerdorp, which also includes a simulation of a fire

A kitchen fire is simulated in the experience container. You experience how quickly fire starts and the smoke can spread. Spokesman Kristof Louagie: “Inside the experience container you are immersed in a safe and controlled environment in which you can experience realistic situations. You get the chance to see first hand how a fire can start and spread. This hands-on approach allows you to better understand the urgency and impact of fire hazards.”

Westhoek Fire Brigade wants to inform people about the dangers of fire and provide them with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves and others.

In the Brandweerdorp, visitors can also meet fire volunteers, ask them questions and share personal experiences. The aim is to create a close relationship with the fire service and also to attract new fire volunteers.
