Harrie and daughter Evelien Boerhof from Dwingeloo will leave for the Ukrainian border on Wednesday morning, April 6. From Help for Ukraine Westerveld they take medical aids in a bus that have been collected within the Westerveld municipality.
In recent weeks, the medical resources have been collected at Noabuur in Vledder, De Veldkei in Havelte, the Raad en Daad clothing bank in Dwingeloo and the Kruiskerk in Diever. A large consignment of paracetamol and thermometers has also been purchased from the donations from the Kruiskerk Diever, which will be shipped to the Ukraine.
The Westervelders deliver the goods to the Ukrainian border, where they are taken to a pastor in Ternopil (60 kilometers northeast of Lviv). They take back Ukrainian refugees from there for the organization ‘Frisian drivers for Ukraine’. These refugees are given shelter in Ureterp.
Tools are welcome
The organization of Aid for Ukraine Westerveld is grateful for all the resources collected and asks people to continue to hand them over at the collection points. If you want to contribute to the meeting places in the Kruiskerk Diever or Brug-es Kerk Dwingeloo, you can register as a volunteer via [email protected] , stating name, address, telephone number and preferred location. For help you can think of the categories familiarizing yourself with the Netherlands (lessons), transport/hand and span services, youth activities, support with activities, host/hostess.
meeting
The first people from the Ukraine have now been accommodated within the Westerveld municipality. A meeting place has been created for them to visit. There is an open walk-in every morning during the week. In addition, lessons are given to ‘guide in the Netherlands’ and there are also moments for mother and child (0 to 4 years) and youth from 4 to 12 years to come together. In this way, people from Ukraine can meet fellow sufferers who speak the same language and be helped with various requests for help.
