Westerlo increases relegation concerns for ten-member Kortrijk

The Guys had to go on with a man less in a scoreless first 45 minutes in the 26th minute, after Habib Gueye dealt a blow to Pietro Perdichizzi. The Kemphanen exploited that number early in the second half via Nicolas Madsen. The promising Dane first found Dorian Dessoleil on his way, but lost the leather in the rebound in the roof of the goal.

KVK subsequently failed to equalize. On the contrary, it was substitute Nene Dorgeles who let Marko Ilic grab a second time with a handsome place ball.

Thanks to the victory, Jonas De Roeck’s team slips into the top six of the Belgian first division with 22 points. Kortrijk now dangles disconsolately at the bottom, in eighteenth and last place, with 11 points.
