Lawmakers in the US state of West Virginia passed a strict law on Tuesday banning abortion in almost all cases. However, there are limited exceptions for victims of rape or incest or cases where the health of the mother is at risk. West Virginia is the second state after Indiana to pass a strict anti-abortion law since the Supreme Court repealed the constitutional right to abortion in June. Republicans hold power in both states.
