West Ham boss Moyes apologizes for freak out

Frankfurt/Main (AP) – West Ham United’s coach David Moyes has publicly regretted his freak out in the Europa League semifinals at Eintracht Frankfurt.

“I apologize for that,” said Moyes late Thursday evening after the 1-0 defeat. The London boss saw the red card in the final stages after losing his nerve and firing a ball at a ball boy. The 59-year-old had previously gone too slowly.

Moyes criticized Eintracht colleagues. He was “very disappointed with the bank’s reaction,” said the Englishman after the game. Referee Jesús Gil Manzano from Spain had shown Moyes the red card immediately after the incident. Sportingly, the coach of the Premier League club congratulated the rival, who will now face Glasgow Rangers in the Europa League final on May 18. “Kudos to Frankfurt, they did great,” said Moyes.
