The West Flemish Environmental Federation understands the many concerns of farmers, but believes that there is now too strong a focus on one problem: the purchase of agricultural land and the targeting of nature organizations. “We continue to believe in consultation, but with discussion partners who behave with dignity and respect. We ask the municipal and provincial authorities to explicitly renounce this intimidation and not to ‘drop current conversations and plans hastily and under pressure and to resume its broad social role.’ “
