West Flemish municipalities make school environments safer

West Flemish municipalities make school environments safer

In total, the colleges of aldermen in our province received one million euros. Roeselare received the most support, 180,000 euros. Then Oudenburg followed with 112,000 and Harelbeke with 108,000 euros.

The money will mainly go to interventions in the road infrastructure. For example, there could be a mandatory driving direction for cars, kiss-and-ride zones and better lighting. The aim is to get more children and parents on bicycles, so that school environments become safer in traffic.
