West Flemish fire brigade and IT staff towards Poland: “Ukrainians need the internet”
The aid campaign is called ‘HOPE’, which stands for Help Ukraine and Support from Poland. In just a week’s time, a team of fifteen people was put together. In the meantime, a lot of items have been collected such as clothing, diapers, food and toys.
“Need for WiFi”
Tomorrow three delivery vans, a camper van and three regular cars will leave for Medyka, where the Ukrainian refugees are arriving. The contribution of the telecommunications company Citymesh from Oostkamp is remarkable, because people need communication with family members or friends. “We are used to building temporary WiFi networks. We often do that at festivals,” says Ward van Ooteghem of Citymesh.
