West Flemish companies disappointed with Ventilus radiation plans of the Flemish Government
Companies that fall under the Ventilus high-voltage cables form associations in the non-profit organization INVOLTE to express their concerns. Half of the companies involved have already actively joined, accounting for more than 1000 employees.
The organization regrets having to hear the news from the Flemish government in the press. The companies involved are concerned about the protection of their employees and live in uncertainty. They also do not know whether these standards also apply to companies.
“The 0.4 microTesla as a binding assessment framework that should be avoided as much as possible is also just an empty box. In addition, the standard of 100 microTesla is unrealistic. An amount that can only be measured if you were living almost between the cables. If unreality becomes the norm, there is of course no norm. This undermines the consultation,” said spokesperson for the non-profit organization INVOLTE Ignace Vandewalle.
