West Fleming wins stage in very tough mountain bike race
Together with his Italian team mate Fabian Rabensteiner, Alleman, Belgian champion marathon mountain biking, completed the 76 km long stage with start and finish in Stellenbosch in about three hours and fifteen minutes. They were a good minute faster than the Germans Georg Egger and Lukas Baum. The Northern Irishman Cameron Orr and the Austrian Daniel Geismayr completed the podium in just under four minutes. Frans Claes was 19th in half an hour, Sébastien Carabin 25th in 40 minutes. In the standings, Alleman and Rabensteiner are sixth at 45 minutes from the German Andreas Seewald and the Czech Martin Stosek, fifth on Saturday. Claes is 13th at an hour and 45 minutes, Carabin 14th at over two hours. The last stage is scheduled for Sunday.
