The additional cameras will be installed on the access roads of the West Coast police zone, among other things. This makes it easier for the police to catch signalled vehicles. The cameras can thus help to arrest gangs of perpetrators and combat border crime, the police say. There will also be six cameras specifically for monitoring nuisance in entertainment areas and human smuggling. All together this amounts to an investment of half a million euros.
