Wesley van Wijnbergen is the new Managing Director

The Dutch sportswear label Protest has a new boss. On Tuesday, the company announced the promotion of Wesley van Wijnbergen to Managing Director. The 42-year-old protested as an intern in 2001 and has been responsible for the retail, marketing, sales and e-commerce departments in recent years, the clothing supplier said in a statement.

The previous managing director, Caroline Dekker, who had managed the company since 1998, would “in future rather take on the role of shareholder in the background than manage day-to-day business,” said Protest.

“I’m looking forward to this great challenge and opportunity,” said van Wijnbergen on the occasion of his promotion. “Over the years we have built a strong team that now supports me in this next step. With our strong financial backbone, we will grow the business by developing even more year-round products with our usual focus on great design, sustainability and an affordable price.”
