After seven years at Hertha BSC, former national player Niklas Stark deliberately chose a quieter environment than at his former club when he switched to Werder Bremen.
“I’ve had seven coaches in Berlin over the past three years. It’s difficult to play football when one person has one plan and the other has another,” said the 27-year-old Strong in a “Sport Bild” interview. “You could see that in the team too. I wanted to avoid that in the future.”
Especially with Jürgen Klinsmann the defender didn’t get along at Hertha. The former national coach thought he was a good but injury-prone central defender. “I didn’t have the easiest time under him, but I wasn’t injured that often. He wasn’t right about that,” Stark said.

“He had his vision, it didn’t fit between us. Finished. The topic has been cancelled,” Stark continued. This summer, the two-time international made a free transfer to Bundesliga returnees Werder Bremen.
