The tree blossom festival is canceled for the third time this year. But Werder’s farmers open their gardens – and serve plenty of fruit wine.

Happy revelers under blossoming trees – that was the last time before the pandemic. In December, the traditional tree blossom festival was also canceled for 2022. With one crucial difference: “We can now host guests again in our gardens,” says fruit grower Stefan Lindicke (48).
On Holy Saturday he was the first to open his fruit wine stand on Werderaner Höhenweg. With apple, cherry, rhubarb wine (3 euros per cup), coffee (1.50 euros and sheet cake (3 euros).
A huge success! On the Easter weekend, locals and cyclists stood flat in front of Lindicke’s bar and enjoyed the dream view over Lake Zernsee and the island town.
At the end of April/beginning of May, when the apple trees blossom, even more orchards open.
Nothing to complain about!
Was that a glorious long Easter weekend? Sooo sunny, sooo mild, sooo relaxing. Really nothing to complain about, dear Easter Bunny!
Many Berliners and tourists just want to go out, for a walk through the city, in the parks, on the water or further into the surrounding area.
The thermometer was already flirting with the 20 degree mark, these were holidays for real spring fever.
The weather experts are predicting a mix of sun and clouds for today. More than 15 degrees are not possible. Has spring already given up again?
But no, don’t worry! Sabine Krüger from the German Weather Service predicts changeable weather, but promises a “slightly rising temperature level”.
Into the air on broad wings
Now they take off: Birds of prey and eagle owls start an impressive show again in the zoo.
In the former open-air stage, eagle owls, vultures and the secretary from Africa show their skills every day (except Mondays).
Fascinating to experience how the owl takes off for a noiseless start, glides majestically over the heads of the spectators and then returns to its reference person on the show stage. The etching is already waiting there.
It may look easy, but it requires persistent training and a close bond between animal and human.
The screening begins at 1:30 p.m. each day. Later admission will not be granted.
