Werder Bremen wants to extend Marvin Ducksch: “Offer made”

The clause is still valid for two days

“There will be something soon,” said Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch in mid-May regarding his future. Relatively little has happened since then, and in the past few days it has been comparatively quiet about the coveted 29-year-old. The 19-scorer attacker (twelve goals/seven assists) can leave the green-whites with an exit clause for 7 million euros. This clause is still valid until June 15, when Werder will have the reins of action in their hands again. License player manager Clemens Fritz has confirmed an offer from Bremen to extend Ducksch’s contract, which expires in 2024.

“We made him an offer for a contract extension. Now we have to see how the talks develop,” said Fritz on Tuesday when asked by “dyke room“. The portal close to the club speculates that the offer may be too low for Ducksch, so he continues to wait. Born in Dortmund, he had always emphasized that he felt comfortable on the Weser, but still left his future open. In the course of the announcement that he would have something to report, Ducksch said about a possible return to youth club Borussia Dortmund: “If you had the opportunity to play there, it would definitely be a dream come true.”

In the TM rumor mill, Ducksch was linked to BVB, who is said not to be specifically interested, and Union Berlin, which recently signed Mikkel Kaufmann (22) from FC Copenhagen for 2.7 million euros. In the case of the “Iron”, a decision to specifically court Ducksch is related, among other things, to the unclear future of top scorer Sheraldo Becker (28), who in turn has already flirted with a transfer. Ducksch has also been traded at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen and FC Turin from Serie A in recent weeks.

Werder, on the other hand, signed a strong striker in Dawid Kownacki (26). The Pole, who comes from Fortuna Düsseldorf on a free transfer, was presented as an alternative and not as a replacement for Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug (30).
