Werder Bremen | Transfer fixed: Rafael Borré moves to Brazil

Striker Rafael Borré, who was on loan from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt to league rivals Werder Bremen, is moving to Brazil to first division club Internacional Porto Alegre. The South Americans announced this on social networks.

There was no confirmation of the transfer from Bremen on Sunday, but Borré was no longer in the Green-Whites’ squad for the away game in Hoffenheim this Sunday (5:30 p.m.).

A change had already been negotiated during the winter transfer period. Borré had already been photographed wearing an Alegre jersey in January.

The move to Brazil would have been completed in the summer at the latest; the Brazilians had already reached an agreement on this with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Decisive goal in the Europa League

The fact that Borré can now move is due to the Brazilian transfer window, which is open until March 7th. At Internacional Porto Alegre, Borré will meet former Bundesliga players Charles Aránguiz and Lucas Alario.

Borré played 92 competitive games at Eintracht Frankfurt and won the Europa League in 2022. The 28-year-old Colombian scored in the 69th minute in the final against Glasgow Rangers and ultimately scored the decisive try in the penalty shootout.

During the current season, Borré was loaned to Werder and scored four goals in 19 games. Recently, however, he no longer played a major role in Werder coach Ole Werner’s plans. Werder should receive a transfer fee of around 300,000 euros.
