Bundesliga promoted Werder Bremen has brought Jens Stage from FC Copenhagen. The 25-year-old defensive midfielder is moving to the Weser with immediate effect.
The Dane accompanies the team to the training camp in Austria, as the Bremen team announced. Both football clubs have agreed not to disclose the details of the change.
Werder also announced that Oliver Burke is coming. A basic agreement has been reached with the English second division club Sheffield United about the change. There were only final formalities to be clarified. It is planned that the attacker, who also used to play for RB Leipzig, will go to the training camp with the green-whites.
Stage, who has played once for the Danish national team, has played more than 100 competitive games for Copenhagen over the past three years. In May 2016 he made his debut with Aarhus GF in the Danish first division and switched to the capital club in 2019. He scored 32 goals for both teams in a total of 206 professional appearances.
“He’s physically good, well-trained as a footballer and also brings a certain goal threat with him. We’re convinced that he can help our game directly,” said coach Ole Werner.
