Werder Bremen hopes for BVB-Knipser: “Has developed great”

Bundesliga club SV Werder Bremen is looking closely at upcoming options for the offensive series. One of the most frequently mentioned personalities in the Hanseatic city is striker Justin Njinmah, who is currently successfully chasing goals for Borussia Dortmund II in the 3rd division.

The center forward is on loan from Werder to BVB and is currently returning to the Weser in the summer. However, there had recently been reports that the black and yellow were considering drawing a contractually fixed purchase option of one million euros for the native of Hamburg.

Njinmah has been particularly noticeable in the last few weeks, when BVB II managed to free themselves from the relegation battle in the 3rd division. The 22-year-old has scored in seven games for Dortmund since February, and the Westphalians have won six of those games and have meanwhile worked their way up to 14th place in the 3rd division.

Werder football boss Clemens Fritz made no secret of the fact that Njinmah is still the focus of Bremen’s full focus: “Justin has developed very well Role.”

Fritz confirms: “Dortmund has an option”

In addition to his 30 season appearances for BVB II, the German-Nigerian has also played for the professionals in the Bundesliga. He came on as a substitute in the second half of Dortmund’s 3-0 away defeat by RB Leipzig.

Most recently, Werder manager Frank Baumann is said to have been on site in Dortmund to explore BVB’s ambitions to actually sign the goalscorer. Fritz confirmed this to the newspaper: “Dortmund has an option, but everything else is still open.”

By the way: Justin Njinmah’s contract with Werder Bremen runs from this summer until the end of the 2023/2024 season.
