Bundesliga club Werder Bremen clearly won their friendly against French first division team FC Toulouse.
In front of 1,600 spectators in the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller, Austria, coach Ole Werner’s team won 5-2 (1-1).
Bremen attackers Niclas Füllkrug and Dawid Kownacki scored two goals each. Füllkrug scored in the 50th minute with a penalty kick and in the 73rd minute out of the game. Kownacki was successful in the 62nd and 82nd minutes.
The fifth Werder goal went to Romano Schmid (36′). The French had taken the lead through Mamady Bangre (15th). Ado Onaiwu scored for Toulouse to make it 2-2.
Werder will open the new Bundesliga season on August 18 (8:30 p.m./Sat.1) with a home game against record champions and defending champions Bayern Munich.
