Werder Bremen: Baumann assumes that Chiarodia will remain

Werder’s youngest Bundesliga professional

Werder Bremen is optimistic about being able to keep young player Fabio Chiarodia (18) on the Weser. “In the case of Fabio, we assume that he will not pull the clause and will stay with us,” said manager Frank Baumann of the “Picture“-Newspaper about the defensive talent associated with other clubs, which could leave the SVW via contract option.

“He graduated from school and thus has even better conditions to get more playing time with us. We are convinced that this will succeed,” added Baumann, who wants to stick to the previous structure in the Bremen defense center. “We still feel very comfortable in this constellation with four seasoned central defenders and one talent,” said the official.

Werder’s central defender quartet is still tied to the Hanseatic city in the long term: Marco Friedl (25), Amos Pieper (25) and Niklas Stark (28) until 2026 each, Milos Veljkovic (27) until 2025. Chiarodia, whose working paper is still valid until the end of the Coming season, made his first three appearances in the Bundesliga last season, where he replaced Nick Woltemade as the Green-Whites’ youngest Bundesliga player at the time.
