Wendy van Dijk has been mentioned by her SBS 6 colleagues at Shownieuws as a possible new presenter for Lachen Om Home Videos. “I don’t think he’s that busy.”
It’s an insult to any A-star: being asked to do something easy green screenprogram à la Laughing at Home Videos. After all, if you have to piece together grainy internet videos, you can be sure that your career is in the ditch. That is indeed the case with Wendy van Dijk, but such a relegation would be very painful.
Steady program
And yet her name is mentioned when it comes to who should succeed Airen Mylene on the program. She says she no longer has time for it. “It’s the most successful steady program we have here on the channel and it is somehow always difficult to find the right person for it,” says Patty Brard.
She continues Show news: “And Airen did so well. There are rumors that discussions are already being had with some people, so you have to be quick if you want that, haha.”
Britt or Wendy?
Patty has already heard a name mentioned. “I heard Britt Dekker that they are working on that. Yeah, who else would you see doing it? I actually do not know.”
Colleague Manuel Venderbos then makes a scathing comment: “I don’t think Wendy van Dijk is that busy.”
There is some discomfort among colleagues, because this proposal from Manuel naturally says a lot about what Wendy is seen by her own colleagues. Namely, as someone who is passé.
Rob Kemps?
Bart Ettekoven after that proposal: “Oh, we have to look for people who are not busy.”
Manuel: “Rob Kemps maybe?”
Patty: “Rob Kemps.”
Bart: “Yes, it is also under contract. Or you can bring someone from outside. Irene Moors maybe.”
Irene Moors?
Irene Moors? She already felt insulted when she was asked for Eigen Huis & Tuin. “But he also has time, I think,” Patty notes falsely. “In any case, I think it is a great pity that Airen is stopping, because she just added the flair that makes the program fun to watch. And of course she is also fun to watch.”
Manuel: “Certainly. I said out loud.”
