Weltbild takes over bag brand Fitz & Huxley

Weltbild D2C Group secures the Berlin backpack and bag label Fitz & Huxley.

The takeover took place at the beginning of the year, as the Augsburg trading group announced on Tuesday. By expanding the portfolio to include the sustainability-oriented label, the group wants to position itself more strongly in this area.

“With this important purchase, we are further strengthening our commitment to the sustainability megatrend. Fitz & Huxley, as a manufacturer of backpacks and accessories, sets a counterpoint to the fast fashion trend,” said Christian Sailer, CEO of the Weltbild D2C Group. “With this step, we are strengthening our sustainable offering for the growing group of consumers who shop consciously. The high-quality and stylish backpacks and bags complement our brands and ranges very well.”

The Fitz & Huxley label, founded in 2015, will remain active as an independent label at its Berlin location under the leadership of founder Lars Meßmann. He gets support from Sailer. By joining the group, the reach should be used to grow further.

“We are pleased that Fitz & Huxley has found a partner in the Weltbild D2C Group who, with their sales strength, gives us access to over 20 million customers in the group and is expanding the sustainable segment with our offerings,” said Meßmann.
