Ruhpolding (dpa) – After another knee operation, Andreas Wellinger hopes to return in time to prepare for the upcoming ski jumping season.
Since he had had problems again and again since his meniscus tear last September, he decided to have another operation after consulting the doctors. “Everything went well,” Wellinger wrote on social networks about a picture that shows him with crutches.
The normal hill Olympic champion from 2018 added: “The good news is that the regeneration should only last a few weeks and I can probably go back on the hill with my colleagues as planned.”
Wellinger, who had already seriously injured his knee in 2019, played almost the entire past season.
