Well-known Canadian writer and philosopher will not come to Coevorden for the time being

The Canadian writer Alan Twigg and philosopher Yosef Wosk are not coming to Coevorden for the time being. Twigg and Wosk had plans to undertake a European expedition, but it was postponed by corona. Now it is mainly a matter of adjustment.

In their expedition they wanted to explore the past of their hometown of Vancouver. The name of Canada’s third city comes from Coevorden. The city gets its name from George Vancouver, an explorer. Twigg and Wosk wanted to learn more about the history of George Vancouver and therefore wanted to travel to Coevorden, among others. “I’d like to know the origin of words, where something like this begins. For years I’ve wondered what Vancouver means,” Wosk told the newspaper The Vancouver Sun† “At least it doesn’t sound English,” he continued. “It is Dutch, so there will also be Dutch descendants”.
