4 STARS

At the outset, they let us know that the title is not true. The images of young people in handcuffs, who are taken away by the police, plus the voiceovers of themselves, in enigmatic phrases, reveal that kindness was left aside and, decidedly, innocent youth as well.

The action goes back in time and takes us to the moment when eight twenty-somethings, gathered at a disco, after learning that one of their friends, in the process of gender transition, suffers an attempted sexual abuse, decide to take justice into their own hands. . They go to the house of those who would have been the perpetrators, but when they enter, they do not find them.

Instead of calming things down, in clear signs of immaturity, omnipotence and irresponsibility, they not only drink as much alcohol as possible, but vandalize the walls, destroy valuable objects, and take a bag with thousands of dollars. Except for one, from very low resources, the rest belong to the wealthy middle class, with professional parents. One is the son of a prosecutor and a judge, another of doctors, a couple of a commissioner and another of a successful lawyer connected to the court. As is foreseeable, the abuse will cost them dearly.

This is the plot kick for the new daily Polka stripwhich together with “ATAV 2”, competes in prime time, central time of our open tv. With a neat production, admirable editing, and impeccable technical aspects, the proposal has a good rhythm and achieves the goal of capturing attention. Then, here and there, in the scripts and dialogues, some unlikely situations and extremely didactic phrases emerge, but the genuine commitment to telling in an agile way is evident.

Although most of the youthful cast has more enthusiasm than resources, the solid performances of Jerónimo Giocondo Bosia and Tomás Kirznerfull of expressive and vocal nuances, and the suggestive presences of Lautaro Rodríguez and Ornella D´Eliain roles where they transmit a lot through their looks.

A separate line for Joaquín Ferreira, who with a nicotine voice and a Latin lover’s appearance, generates fear like the bad guy in the story. Finally, it is a pleasure to see great actors and actresses who impose their talent and craft just by appearing on the screen. From Gabriela Toscano, Juan Palomino, Romina Gaetani, Luis Machin, Marita Ballesteros, Luciano Cáceres, Brenda Gandini until Pablo Monaco. Each one elevates the category of supporting actors.

Despite the reservations, this fiction reminds us of the complete quality of Argentine creatives.
