The winning streak of SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the 3rd football league has come to an end. At the start of the 23rd matchday, the Hessians lost 1:2 (0:1) against Erzgebirge Aue after a long deficit and suffered a setback in the race for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.
It was the first defeat since the end of October, since then Wiesbaden had not lost eight games.
With 44 points, Wiesbaden is second behind SV Elversberg (53), SC Freiburg II (42) could pass and 1. FC Saarbrücken (39) could come much closer. Aue (27) pulled away from the relegation zone with the second win in a row.
Wiesbaden’s Ahmet Gürleyen saw the red card in the 14th minute after an emergency brake, from then on the guests took advantage of the majority: Marco Schikora (33rd) and Antonio Jonjic (65th) scored for the second division relegated team. Florian Carstens (74th) shortened.
