Weekly weather forecast: Full summer with even a chance of a regional heat wave | NOW

After a relatively cool weekend, we will switch to a lot more pleasant weather in the new week, reports Weather Plaza Sunday. There is even a chance of a regional heat wave in the southern regions.

Monday morning will start with mostly cloudy in many places. It is cool but almost windless and almost dry. Some drizzle may fall from thicker clouds, especially in the northeast of the country.

During Monday the sun gains more and more ground from the south. The day ends with lots of sunshine everywhere. It will be 21 to 25 degrees from north to south, in Limburg it can be 26 degrees.

The days will be dry and mostly sunny from Tuesday. With many hours of sunshine and little wind, the afternoon temperature rises. Tuesday and Wednesday it is summery almost everywhere in the country with 25 to 28 degrees. In the southeast, the tropical value of 30 degrees is reached.

Especially hot on Sundays

On Thursday, with a northerly wind, temporarily less warm air will flow over our country. Still, with maximums of 21 degrees on the Wadden to 27 degrees in Limburg, it is full summer.

On Friday and in the weekend, a weak to moderate southerly wind will again blow summery warm to tropical air over our country. Especially on Sunday 17 July it can be very hot with 30 to 33 degrees in the center and south.

In the northern provinces it will be less warm due to a wind from the west to northwest with maximums of 23 or 24 degrees.

Possible regional heat wave in southern regions

The southern regions, especially Limburg and the east of Brabant, can prepare for a regional heat wave in the coming week. If the weather forecast comes out, that could already be the case on Sunday.

A series of more than five summer days is expected, three of which can turn out tropical (Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday).
