National figures
The number of patients with corona in Dutch hospitals rose to above 2000 on Monday, the highest number in almost three months. In total there are now 2017 covid patients. That is 157 more than on Sunday, according to the most recent figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS).
There are currently 1,869 corona patients in the nursing wards, 146 more than on Sunday. The last time there were so many people with corona among the members in these departments was mid-December last year. There are now 148 covid patients in intensive care units. That is an increase of 11 compared to the day before.
In the past 24 hours, 197 new corona patients were admitted to the nursing wards. 17 patients with corona were brought in on the ICs.
Some of the admitted patients who tested positive for the coronavirus were admitted primarily for another cause. This could be people with heart problems or stomach complaints, for example. After doing a corona test, it happens to be positive. The LCPS makes no distinction in the daily hospital figures between patients admitted with or because of corona.
