Week of Drenthe: new vaccination location and looking for bombs

A lot of operations this week in Drenthe. In Havelte, the ‘bomb search’ campaign is underway, the GGD is preparing for the ‘coronavirus autumn campaign’ and churches are working on the ‘accommodating refugees’ operation.

The GGD Drenthe is ready to start the autumn campaign against the corona virus. A new large vaccination location was opened for this purpose in Hoogeveen this week.

The churches open the doors for refugees. They have been receiving them since this week, to relieve the pressure on the application center in Ter Apel. Meanwhile, Assen welcomes a large group of young people, in brightly colored T-shirts. They are all students of the Thorbecke Academy. The students are introduced to Assen.

And in Havelte, people are looking for bombs at a bicycle path. The Westerveld municipality wants to widen the path, but first they must make sure that there are no more explosives. During the Second World War, there was a temporary airfield here that was bombed at the time. More news from Havelte, but in Germany: About six hundred soldiers from Havelte are working hard these weeks during a major exercise in East Germany.
