WeDress Collective – fashion for rent for more sustainability

As a peer-to-peer platform, it not only offers the opportunity to make fashion more sustainable and durable, but also to enjoy fashion in a new way. WeDress wants to empower, include and above all be fun, with fashion as a reflection of one’s own values and a statement for environmental protection. Here, high-quality styles from private individuals and local brands can be borrowed and lent out easily and transparently.

With experience in management consulting on sustainability, circular economy and change management and an academic degree in these areas, WeDress founder and management consultant, Jasmin Huber, has a long-standing background in the field of sustainability. She strongly believes that the fashion world is changing and that these changes are needed enormously: “WeDress is my kind of fashion revolution!”

Under the WEAR YOUR VALUES approach, the rental platform wants to emphasize sustainability and make a statement against the environmental impact of fast fashion. JULIA, SKERGETH and numerous luxury designer items are already part of WeDress. The fashion industry has faced harsh criticism on water use, pollution and recycling for decades and pollutes the environment in ways most people are unaware of. WeDress believes that fashion can be worn and lived without neglecting the ecological aspects. Individuality and fashion should be celebrated and lived out, while reducing one’s own ecological footprint.

WeDress believes that a rental system must be part of the future and offers brands the opportunity to reduce textile waste by monetizing returned goods and overstock. Founded in 2020, WeDress Collective is now represented in Berlin, Vienna, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt – soon also in Cologne and Düsseldorf. Lenders benefit from the monetization of their garments and renters from the ever-growing repertoire of high-quality styles. Clothing can be rented for unique events or used to support purchasing decisions – cheaply and sustainably.

Whether you are a private individual or a brand, registering with WeDress is free. After joining, you can choose between a self-managed account or a concierge service. With self-managing accounts, the user is responsible for uploading and managing the rental themselves – this includes delivery and cleaning. If you use the WeDress service, the fee is 20% of the rental price. With the aim of making the entire rental process as convenient, simple and sustainable as possible, WeDress uses a local, city-based approach. Local bike couriers or green logistics providers are used to save on packaging and emissions. All clothes are high quality and have a

New price of at least 110 euros. When using the concierge service, the WeDress team takes care of the entire process – from uploading to cleaning. The service fee is 50%. In all cases, WeDress only earns money when pieces are rented. With heart, transparency and authenticity as indispensable values, WeDress relies on close cooperation with stylists, brands and opinion leaders.
