Wedding rings disappear in the air just before ceremony

Do you take each other as legal wives? Yes! But without wedding rings, because they have flown away. That happened at the wedding of Caroline Lamers and Marijke de Veer yesterday in Mill. A balloon containing the golden wedding rings flew into the air. Wedding official and actor Dirk Zeelenberg shares the tragic, yet somewhat comical incident on Instagram.

“Dear people, the wedding rings have flown into the air,” the wedding official opens his video on Instagram. Over the background noise of the wedding celebration in progress, the newlyweds speak up and tell of the unfortunate event.

“Children in tears, they were completely upset.”

“The children would pop the balloon with the wedding rings, but before the moment arrived, the weight flew off the balloons and the balloons went into the air,” says Caroline de Veer-Lamers. “Children in tears, they were completely upset.”

“We’re going to have a great party!”

The wedding rings may be gone, but the festive mood at Tongelaar Castle in Mill has not flown away. “We’re going to have a great party!” Caroline laughs. “But if you come across the rings, we would really like them back.”

It concerns two gold rings and a silver, pink girl’s ring. “I think it has gone in the direction of Nijmegen”, speculates Marijke. “We’re going to have a great party. Shards bring luck,” adds Zeelenberg. The bridal couple calls on people to look out for the balloons.
