Weber+Weber files for bankruptcy

The Austrian menswear brand Weber+Weber is insolvent.

The Weber + Weber GmbH can “no longer meet current payment obligations,” said the creditor protection organization Alpine Association of Creditors (AKV Europe) on Wednesday. For this reason, bankruptcy proceedings were opened at the responsible commercial court in Vienna. The procedure was applied for by self-application and self-administration is not planned. The lawyer Günther Hödl was appointed administrator.

The slow fashion brand was founded in 2015 by Christian and Manuel Weber and has been based in Vienna since 2020. Weber+Weber does not have its own stores and is available from more than 160 specialist retail partners in Central Europe. These include Lodenfrey in Munich and Braun in Hamburg. The latter supported the brand with the relaunch of the online shop just last month.
