Capricious weather conditions in the Croatian capital Zagreb on Wednesday resulted in the cancellation of the men’s World Cup slalom there. However, the organizers are checking whether a later event in the evening is still possible.
After the jury had postponed the start by 15 minutes, they then announced the cancellation due to the “extreme weather conditions”. Another inspection of the piste at “Bärenberg” revealed that it would not allow a regular race.
Whether there might still be a chance later in the evening remained open at first. A replacement race on Thursday was also discussed.
On Tuesday the women had their first slalom of the year at the same place. In the most adverse conditions, the Slovakian Petra Vlhova won.
