The live industry continues to experience hard times — even well-known bands like Tocotronic have to experience it firsthand. The Hamburg quartet around frontman Dirk von Lowtzow has now announced that they have to postpone a number of live dates of their “Never Again War” tour planned for October 2022. The group doesn’t try to embellish anything, but openly explains the reasons: advance ticket sales have simply been too bad so far.
“Freaks*, it is with great regret that we have to announce that we have to postpone our October live dates,” the musicians said in a statement on their social networks. “We want to be completely honest: At the moment the pre-sales are too weak for the clubs, the local promoters, us and our crew to have the tour.” The band continues: “The times are probably not like that, many artists are having similarly painful experiences right now.”
This data is pushed backwards
Nine dates are affected, including several shows in Germany (Freiburg, Bielefeld, Bremen, Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Leipzig and Chemnitz) and one show each in Austria (Salzburg) and Switzerland (Lucerne). With the exception of the concert in Freiburg, all October dates have been postponed to 2023. However, the dates scheduled for November and December 2023 will all remain the same.
The new dates:
11/26/22 — Freiburg, E-Werk
05/09/23 — Bielefeld, locomotive shed
05/10/23 — Bremen, slaughterhouse
05/11/23 — Nuremberg, Z building
May 12, 2023 — Lucerne, Switzerland, Schüür concert hall
05/22/23 — AT Salzburg, Rockhouse
05/25/23 — Leipig, Conne Island
05/26/23 — Chemnitz, AJZ Talschock
