TV announcer Maria Jungner, 50, has had to face tragic losses in his life. He tells Me in an interview with Women death has touched him close, having lost his sister, brother and father.

His father, program director of Yle TV1 Treasure Aug passed away in February 2022. Jungner describes herself as a daddy’s girl.

– Father’s death was a hard blow, and I missed him. The loss of an elderly and sick person is still easier to accept than a young and healthy one, Jungner tells Me Nais.

Jungner was only 8 years old when his older sister died at the age of 24 in a car crash. This made an indelible mark on Jungner’s life.

– When death is thrown into life at that age through an accident, it never recovers properly. I lost my basic insurance and it has never returned. All the security I have now, I had to build myself, says Jungner.

The family faced with great grief did not receive therapy to support them. Jungner recalls that the men in the family dealt with grief by drinking.

When Jungner was in his thirties, his older brother died of a serious illness.

– Death has always followed in the wake of our family. It has been taken from close quarters, and the order has been unreasonable, Jungner tells Me Nais.

In an interview with Iltalehti, Jungner previously talked about his attitude to life, where he has maintained positivity despite the difficulties.

– I have a basic positive curiosity about life. I’m open to new things and I never know what’s around the corner. I have learned that life is constant change. Rather than not, I say, why not, Jungner said at the beginning of 2022.
