We tested the best beauty pieces

One of the biggest cosmetics trends in 2022 is piece goods.

Ecology is a megatrend, the impact of which is also growing in the cosmetics industry. This is why piece goods and the resulting reduction in plastic waste is such a big phenomenon right now. In 2022, a record number of new piece products will be launched in the cosmetics market.

In addition to eco-labels, cosmetic brands and professional hairdressing kits are now launching piece products. Piece products are now available for the care of the face, body and hair.

The raw materials used in the pieces are usually more natural than in traditional products and the products are often vegan. Piece products usually contain natural oils, and piece shampoos are often sulfate-free. Their packaging material is usually recyclable cardboard or a reusable metal box, ie plastic-free ones as well. Piece products are real zero-waste products.

One of the absolute advantages of all of these, in addition to their eco-friendliness, is the convenience of the products: space is left in the bath cabinet, suitcase and storage bag as the extensive can arsenal shrinks in favor of the piece products. The product remains best when air-dried after use and transported in a convenient tin box.

We tested the piece products on delivery. Each test product was in use for approximately one week. There were a total of six testers.

Face

Lush: Fresh Farmacy facial soap. 13.95 e, Lush.

User experience: The enzyme was whether the makeup would really cleanse this. Admittedly, there was only make-up cream and blush on my face, which seemed to leave with the product. The soap had to be dried a little too much on my own dry skin, which was even drier than usual after the winter. The product is probably better suited for normal or oily skin than for dry skin.

Pros: Pleasant mild scent. Easy to use product.

Special attention: It is advisable to be careful of the eye area when using the product, as the product may be irritating if the eyes are sensitive.

Joik: Moisture Balance Facial Cleansing Soap for Normal and Dry Skin. 14.59 e, Ecco Verde.

User experience: The soap cleanses the face well, including makeup. Although the soap cleanses well, it does not leave the skin disgustingly dry. In all respects I think great facial soap. I would describe the scent of the product as pure, according to the product description, the essential oils of lavender, rosewood and ylang ylang, among others, form a piece of the world of scents.

Pros: The product contains a lot of natural organic oils that are especially suitable for dry skin, such as coconut, olive and sunflower oils. Gentle scent, not too strong.

Special attention: The soap foams enough to make it easy to use.

Nivea: Face Cleansing Magic Bar Refreshing. 9.90 e, Sokos.

User experience: Unlike the other chunks I have tried, this soap is refreshing and has almond oil as a special ingredient. Vegan face soap is foamed on wet hands and then applied to the face avoiding the eyes. On the face, the product forms like an emulsion and is not soapy at all. Rinsing with plenty of water, the face soap leaves off and takes off your makeup well as you go. The product is comfortable and easy to use.

Pros: The plastic-free, vegan product is Ecocert certified. That’s the plus. Contains 99% natural ingredients such as blueberries.

Special attention: I have used Mádara birch and seaweed soap regularly in the past. This works just as well and I could use this just as well as my daily cleanse.

Inkuto: Triple Green, Face and Body Soap. 11.50 e, Inkuto.

User experience: The square and suitably leather soap stays well in the hand in the shower. The scent and green appearance make the use a sensory experience. The soap leaves you feeling fresh and clean. The soap is vegan, handmade and domestic, which is charming. The soap contains many interesting ingredients, such as coconut, shea butter, green tea, and olive and sunflower oil. The packaging of the soap is also said to be suitable for problem skin, as the tea tree and peppermint oil contained in the product are antiseptic ingredients. Product rating: 9.

Pros: The soap smells of absolutely lovely essential tea tree and peppermint. Combined with the green look, the soap becomes a special and spa-like feel.

Special attention: These African soaps are made by hand at Inkuto’s own factory in Herttoniemi, Helsinki. Behind the sign is Ghanaian Edem Agbekey-Taylor, who settled in Finland.

Body

Joik: Exfoliating Foot Soap. 14 e, Joik.

User experience: Lovely exfoliating vegan lump soap for feet. The dry skin of the feet gets a ride effectively with this product, the product feels especially pleasant when rubbing the soles of the feet. Includes exfoliating sea salt and lava rock, as well as softening organic coconut and olive oils. Peppermint oil, on the other hand, refreshes tired feet.

Pros: The footswitch can be left out of use, as this 2-in-1 product also takes care of that.

Special attention: It feels wonderful when working on the soles of the feet, but the piece is a little clumsy against the footbed. Liquid exfoliating cream works better for them.

Kaurila Sauna: Exfoliating Lemongrass Soap. 15.90 e, Kaurilan Sauna.

User experience: If you need effective exfoliation, this product is definitely good for you. The plastic-free product contains small grains of sand and sea salt, which give an exfoliating and cleansing result. Intended for cleaning hands and the whole body. I think the peeling feels pretty drastic. I also tried exfoliation on the face, although it is not specifically intended to be done on the face. It was maybe too harsh!

Pros: The vegan product smells wonderfully with lemongrass! A really pleasant fresh scent, and the piece handmade in Finland is in the shape of a beautiful heart.

Special attention: Exfoliates effectively, but doesn’t feel particularly comfortable.

Oriflame: Scents & Moments Romantic Getaway Sensual Soap. 3 e, Oriflame.

User experience: Vegan soap should have a “sensual scent of peony”. The scent is much more delicate than what the glowing aniline red packaging suggests. In addition, the scent lacks the lightness of the floral scent and the promised sensuality is mainly on paper.

Pros: Biodegradable soap foams pleasantly in use.

Special attention: The soap has a comfortable, ergonomic drop shape.

Lavera: Basis Sensitive 2 in 1 Hair & Skin Bar. 7.90 e, Jolie.

User experience: I used the product as a body soap, although it could also be used to wash my hair. Your foam was light and slid comfortably on your skin. Contains aloe vera and plant-based keratin, which promise to treat the skin. The skin remained soft and did not dry out too, although I always apply body oil after the shower to moisturize the skin.

Pros: The clean and fresh scent of the vegan soap was especially on the tester’s mind. Remains available for future trips, as this frees up space in the liquid bag for another liquid beauty product.

Special attention: If space is limited, this multifunctional product cleans both body and hair.

Hair

Yves Rocher: The Gentle Shampoo Bar. 9.90 e, Yves Rocher.

User experience: The gentle, sulfate-free piece shampoo was a nice new acquaintance. Easy to rub directly into wet hair and scalp. She felt gentle enough and left her hair feeling clean.

Pros: Foam more than I expected and was therefore comfortable to use.

Special attention: As a friend of the product, you can buy a convenient tin box, which is an excellent aid when transporting shampoo to the swimming pool, gym and when traveling.

Inkuto: Solid Shampoo Bar, Raspberry & Cocoa Butter for Normal Hair. 15.75 e, Inkuto.

User experience: This vegan shampoo piece is heavenly lovely, like candy! It smells so delicious that it definitely wants to wash its hair and hopes the scent stays in them. The product cleans the hair well, feels pleasant and leaves a wonderful raspberry scent. After washing, the scalp feels calm and the hair is soft and cleansed.

Pros: A wonderful shampoo piece that I would love to continue to use. It is wonderful to use alone thanks to its scent: it offers luxury to life.

Special attention: These African soaps are made by hand at Inkuto’s own factory in Herttoniemi, Helsinki. Behind the sign is Ghanaian Edem Agbekey-Taylor, who settled in Finland.

Act Now !: Solid Shampoo. 14.90 e, Headline.

User experience: The silicone-free block shampoo contains ingredients that effectively moisturize and treat hair, such as shea butter and coconut oil. A pleasant user experience that left the hair feeling soft and easy to comb. The product gives a clean mark and after washing the hair looks healthy.

Pros: The excellent sulphate-free lump shampoo left the hair shiny and looking good.

Special attention: It also promises to work on colored hair, extending the life of the hair dye. The tester has his own color in the hair, ie this feature cannot be commented on.

Eleven: Gentle Hydrate Conditioner Bar. 24 e, Hair center.

User experience: The gentle product doesn’t feel right at all, a really thin texture in the hair. Accustomed to liquid conditioners, it feels challenging to apply to hair. When applied for the first time, it was doubtful whether it got into the hair at all. Afterwards, however, the hair feels clearly treated, differently than after just shampooing.

Pros: Pleasantly fresh scent that is clear but not too strong. The vegan product contains moisturizing cocoa butter, which supports the healing feel.

Special attention: An effective product, but requires a little getting used to.
