“We haven’t seen this yet”: expert enthusiastic about new Alzheimer’s drug. But will there ever be a pill that cures?

The new Alzheimer’s drug lecanemab, which significantly slows down patients’ intellectual decline, is a particularly important breakthrough, according to expert Sebastiaan Engelborghs. “The drug is addressing the effects of the disease to a degree that we have never seen before.” Yet that does not mean that we are close to a sanctifying pill that suppresses Alzheimer’s.
