The rich and the penniless – in the last episode of the season, value strategist Jaana Villanen and a lecturer spouse Panu are trying to live on a weekly budget of 91 euros. The exchange life made possible by the sum is quite different from what they are used to, as the couple lives in a 400 square meter house. There are 8-9 rooms in the home – depending on the calculation method.
Panu says that there are up to 60 different trees in the large yard. He has also made his own sandy beach and a long pier next to the house, which the man describes as a “nice whole”. Both Jaana and Panu both work on responsibility, and the couple says that their wealth enables them to do meaningful things. Among other things, Panu has invested 6,000 euros in telescopes and binoculars, as well as made impressive art on the walls of the home out of problematic waste.
For Jaana, it is important that the wealth is self-created.
– I think that success shouldn’t be easy, he sums up.

Panu, who loves fish and shellfish, has to compromise his diet when Jaana goes shopping with a carefully prepared shopping list. He describes the weekly budget as “more or less the payment of one massage”.
Despite this, he gives in to his feelings once in a while.
– I think I’m going to buy the list again now. This shopping list is bad, because I keep passing it, I can see how much cash is enough when not everyone has been taken yet, Jaana reflects.
At the checkout, it is revealed that despite the impulse purchases, he managed to stay within the pre-planned budget of almost one euro. Worry still rears its head.
– Today is only the second day and the money has practically already been spent. If a surprising situation comes up, it seems quite exciting what to do in that situation. When there is only a little over a dozen left in the budget. Now let’s go from hand to mouth, if these foods that we bought now are not enough.
Panu describes stepping into someone else’s life and shoes as a healthy experience.
