Daniel Lanois released “Eau” on September 2nd, another prelude to upcoming record Player, Piano. The solo album will be released on September 23rd and features soft piano compositions. Lanois produced the recordings at his own studio in Toronto.
The two singles “My All” and “Inverness” had previously been released and can also be heard on the new album. “Working on this album was one big journey – and that at a time when I actually had to keep my feet still and was stuck. But I made detours to Cuba, Mexico and Jamaica, among other places. I’ve had encounters with the spirits of people like Erik Satie, Oscar Peterson and Harold Budd,” Lanois said of the making of the record. Most recently, the musician and producer released “Heavy Sun” in 2021, for which he received a lot of praise.
