WC gold! Minja Korhonen, 16, won again

Minja Korhonen16, won the Combined Junior World Championship in Planica, Slovenia, on Friday.

Korhonen defeated the U.S. in the under-20 category in the five-kilometer cross-country skiing section by Alexa Brabec in 1.5 seconds. Germany’s Ronja Loh took the WC bronze (+11.0).

Suomalaistahtih was fourth after the hill section. He left the track 39 seconds ahead of Norway Ingrid Låten after.

Drama was seen in the race when Slovenia started second in the skiing section Tia Malovrh disketted. Malovrh led the race at 1.3 kilometers by no less than 23 seconds, but stopped midway.

The Slovenian had to start the track two seconds after Låte. However, he was deemed guilty of a stolen start, which led to a disqualification.

Malovrh angrily slammed his staff into the snow.
