No Need Orga missed promotion to the 1st Division of the German League of Legends Prime League at the first attempt. The team of streamers led by Frederik “Noway” Hinteregger and Daniel “Broeki” Broekmann lost the first qualifying series against Wave Esports 1-3.
“Unfortunately we didn’t make it. Mechanically we underperformed so much today,” wrote jungler Muhammed “Agurin” Kocak on Twitter. “From now on Tuesday is the last chance against Hertha.”
Close fight in Prime League relegation
After the disqualification of Penta 1860, NNO, as the second division champion, was allowed to skip the first round directly, while opponent Wave Esports, in ninth place in the first division, had to prevail against Hertha BSC.
The duel was hard-fought from the start, as the teams that won team fights alternated constantly. In the decisive moments, however, NNO drew the short straw too often, which meant that Wave secured the deserved relegation.
The rise of the LoL streamer team would be a sensation
In the duel for the last first division starting place against Hertha BSC on Tuesday, NNO still gets a second chance for promotion. This would be a surprise anyway: with little training and without a classic coach, the team is more of a side project for the ex-professionals established as streamers.
However, with players like former Mouz top planner Niklot “Tolkin” Stüber resigning his position as Prime League commentator in favor of potential promotion, NNO brings more experience than many top division sides.
