Water jumpers Barthel/Eikermann take fifth place in the World Championships

The water jumpers Timo Barthel and Jaden Eikermann took a respectable fifth place in tower synchronization at the World Championships in Budapest. After a solid performance, the newly formed duo scored 377.37 points and thus improved significantly compared to the mixed prelim (340.47).

Gold once again went to the water jumping powerhouse from the Far East: Lian Junjie and Yang Hao won China’s fourth title in the fourth competition of the World Championships in Budapest. Silver went to Brits Matthew Lee/Noah Williams ahead of Canada’s Rylan Wiens/Nathan Zsombor-Murray.

In the previous individual final on the 3m board, a Chinese had triumphed in Wang Zongyuan.

Moritz Wesemann, who had convinced in fifth place in the semifinals, was unable to take part in the morning due to a positive corona quick test. If the result of the PCR test confirms the disease, the 20-year-old from Halle will also miss the 1m competition on Thursday.
