Water in De Blankaart is historically low

Guido Vandenbroucke, Natuurpunt: “The water is historically low. If we also have such dry summers in the coming years, then various birds may stay away for good. The solution is not that difficult, however. To prevent a severe drought dip, we have to use a higher level from 1 February. Hold the water longer. This is the only way we can get through the drought peak.”

Experts are now investigating the best level to use, which will probably be up to 20 centimeters higher than it is now.
