“We all notice the drought in the country, also in Limburg,” says Chrit Wolfhagen, member of the executive board of the Limburg Water Board. “We have already taken various measures to retain water for longer, such as installing pumps and relocating fish due to drought. But our streams, especially in North and Central Limburg, are having a hard time and in some cases run dry. We want to limit the further decline of the water in our streams and the drying up of streams as much as possible with this complete abstraction ban.”
